Got occipital neuralgia after having minor scalp surgery to remove 2 pilar cysts. Couldn't move my head or neck without alot of pain. Had the laser therapist Virginia work on both areas behind my ears following the irritated occipital nerves to the spine. After the first session the nerves started getting relief. Before the next session I was able to move my head and neck much better. Wow I was amazed at how well and quickly this works. Dr Whalen does the adjustments afterwards. I leave happy . I go twice a week right now.
After 13 laser sessions my occipital neuralgia has been completely eliminated. I highly recommend Dr Whalen and his team to everyone. I never got a response from the surgeon about this possibility or even what to do about it.

Ive been working with Dr Whalen and his staff for a year so far. I have utilized the massage, the traction machine, and the laser. A year ago I had pain just walking the dog, and with the laser and the other therapies, I am able to move much more freely and without pain. Highly recommend

I've been going to chiropractors for more than 30 years and Dr Whalen is amazing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and they offer massage therapy and other types of muscular skeletal therapy. No matter where you are in Hampton Roads it's worth the drive.

I came in with vertigo which had not been helped with Meclizine and Dr. Whalen was able to adjust my ears thus realigning inner ear crystals. I noticed immediate improvement and with one further adjustment a few weeks later am totally symptom free. I highly recommend his skilled, helpful treatment.

I started seeing Dr. Whalen in January 2025. I had right shoulder pain 9/10. Id walk the house at night because of the pain. After my 1st visit my pain went down to 5/10. They treat me with Laser, Massage and adjustments. Orthopedic MD gave me a Steroid injection, shoulder replacement advised. Between a steroid injection ever 3 months and Dr Whalens treatment pain about a 3. I see Dr. Whalen weekly and were working on the shoulder mobility. Dr Whalen and staff are 5 Stars. Top notch!

After eight weeks of physical therapy for adductor muscle pain, I decided to try light therapy combined with massage at Alpine. After just a few sessions, I noticed a significant improvementand now the pain and discomfort are gone.

I've been coming to Alpine Chiropractic ever since I wrecked my motorcycle in 2020. I always feel so relieved after a visit there between the adjustments, traction bed and top tier Chiropractic massages offered. I especially loved the cold laser treatment that has fully healed my stubborn collarbone that was broken into many pieces. The healing process has been so slow but ever since I used the cold laser, strength had returned and all pain and tenderness has gone away. It was 10 treatments in total and I started to notice the change probably after 6. I plan to incorporate more laser sessions in the future as it is versatile for other areas. Dr. Whalen and his staff are great! Very nice and knowledgeable, it helps to make the experience great. The Dr is helping me with my back and neck and I told him about the tingling in my hands when I woke in the night. He recommended a pillow and the numbness was gone after that. So greatful for the relief! Cant say enough good things about this office!!

I have been going to Dr.Whalen for over a year for neck issues and have been very pleased. I recently pulled my Achilles tendon playing Pickleball and had no idea he could help me with that too! He suggested laser treatment and after the recommended 10 sessions, along with massage, my foot feels as good as new! Highly recommend Dr. Whalen and his awesome team!

This place is amazing! I cant believe more people dont know about this little gem. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel at home. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I have been under the care of Dr. Whalen for a few months now. He is a great human, a fantastic doctor and just all around cool guy. Ive been coming to Dr Whalen off and on for 20 years. He never ceases to amaze me with his ability to fix me every time. Only time and experience can give you the tools and knowledge that he has. Recently it took only one visit to solve what was keeping me from being able to move while laying down due to a muscle issue. After the first adjustment i was 85% better. After the 2nd visit and only a week later 99% better. I cannot recommend alpine health center enough. The whole staff is wonderful.

I've been to Alpine Health Center twice for low back pain. Dr. Whalen is efficient, to-the-point, and incredibly helpful in not only addressing the acute pain but also emphasizing the importance of maintenance care. This most recent time I injured my back, they were able to see me the same day and then make an appointment the next day as well. I didn't take care of my back how I should of the first time around but I didn't feel any judgment when I hurt it again. Now I'm taking it more seriously and feel confident in more knowledge of stretches, routine care, and a plan of action to help this not happen again. Would absolutely recommend holistic and well-rounded chiropractic care at Alpine Health Center. Also the front desk staff is amazing and Carol never fails to welcome with a warm "It's good to see you!"
